biography

I have been painting and sculpting professionally since 1997. Some of my work can be seen in public places in North Carolina – most of my work is in private homes.

I can’t remember a time in my life when I wasn't involved in art.

Before pursuing art as a career on my own, I spent 15 years in the graphic arts business. I did everything from operating large multi-color presses, film and computer graphics, supervision and customer service to vendor management. I spent my final years in the industry as a technical trainer and corporate quality manager.

My solid background in technical precision, color theory, composition and business certainly has strengthened my versatility in art and the business of art.

In 1996, (thanks to Washburn Graphics), I used all of my vacation time at once and spent the summer in Europe. Art was all around me. I traveled, visited museums and studios, studied and sketched. It was then I realized that life is too short not to pursue one’s passion and develop a gift.

Since that time, I have continued to build on a lifetime of study and practice. I work hard to become proficient in a variety of mediums and techniques. Please take a few minutes to look through my galleries.
